The CHANGING THE CANVAS project is part of broader efforts by the Canadian Labour Congress to assist newcomers and immigrants of colour to successfully integrate into the Canadian workforce.

Our research and education activities include:

Learning Resources for Unions - development of new workshops and course material regarding challenges faced by immigrant workers in joining and integrating into the Canadian workforce, with an emphasis on what unions can do to assist, and how

Participatory Research - examining the experiences/challenges of immigrants of colour in joining and integrating into the Canadian workforce and how unions help, impede, or remain neutral in this struggle

Partnership Building – forging strengthened relationships with agencies that work with immigrants on issues related to workforce integration and racism in order to share research, policy analysis, and coordinated advocacy activities.
