Pushparajah’s familiy came to Canada from Bangladesh after being sponsored by his already-immigrated father.

He was 17 when he arrived and immediately pursued part-time jobs in the service sector. After graduating with a college diploma, he managed to find a position with a financial company. Now that he has started out in a chosen field, Nirushan realizes that the education and experience that should bring luck to immigrants seeking employment is best obtained in Canada. The repeated refrain about needing 'Canadian experience' continues to put immigrants at a disadvantage, he says.
